AIAA Welcomes student participants to the Region IV Student Conference. Students must join AIAA to be eligible to compete in the conference. For more information about Student Membership visit us online. Student membership is only $25 USD.

AIAA Author Kit

Your paper should be prepared according to AIAA Manuscript Preparation Kit. Please note that the paper can be no longer than 11 pages single column because this is a student competition. Masters Competition papers may have up to two student authors and list one faculty advisor as co-author.

Category and Award Overview

Categories requiring an abstract, technical paper and oral presentation:  Aerospace History, Undergraduate, Graduate, and Team

Aerospace History Paper - Undergraduate Category (This category is funded through AIAA Region IV)

Open To: High School Students, Freshmen, and Sophomore University level students, maximum of one author per paper.

Requirements: A fifteen minute presentation. No written paper.

Awards:

  • 1st Place: $75.00 
  • 2nd Place: $50.00
  • 3rd Place: $25.00

 

Technical Paper - Undergraduate Category:

Open To:  Freshmen through Seniors, maximum of two authors per paper.

Requirements:  An abstract and technical paper submitted online, and a twenty minute presentation.

Awards:

  • 1st Place: $500.00
  • 2nd Place: $300.00
  • 3rd Place: $250.00

Technical Paper - Graduate Category:

Open To:  Master students, maximum of two authors per paper.

Requirements:  An abstract and technical paper submitted online, and a twenty minute presentation.

Awards:

  • 1st Place: $500.00
  • 2nd Place: $300.00
  • 3rd Place: $250.00

Technical Paper - Undergraduate Team Category:

Open To:  Undergraduate students, three to ten authors (undergraduates only) with either one listed gradute student or one faculty advisor .

Requirements:  An abstract and technical paper submitted online, and a twenty minute presentation.

Awards:

  • 1st Place: $500.00
  • 2nd Place: $300.00
  • 3rd Place: $250.00
