Lodging Information for the 2008 Region IV AIAA Student Conference
The AIAA Region IV Student Conference Organizing Committee has contracted with the Comfort Inn & Suites located at 2901 Nasa Pkwy, Seabrook, TX 77586. Telephone: (281) 326-3301 for a block of rooms for the nights of 17-18 April 2008 at a conference rate of $84.99 per room per night plus tax. The Organizing Committee will cover the costs of these rooms for these two nights for AIAA student members, assuming four (4) students per room, and for one (1) faculty advisor per student chapter, one faculty advisor per room. Any incidental expenses above the basic cost cited above (e.g., movies, room service, phone calls, etc.) are the responsibility of the occupants. At the time of hotel registration, each occupant will need to provide the hotel with a credit card number to cover all incidental expenses. In order to access this room block and qualify for expense coverage, you must reserve your room through the Student Conference web site registration process. Do not contact the hotel directly unless you are reserving rooms for dates outside of the dates above.
AIAA professional members, other than the faculty advisors, are responsible for their own expenses. We ask, though, that you also register and reserve your room(s) through the Student Conference web site. Including these rooms in the total conference room count enables us to obtain better rates from the hotel for the conference expenses.
In order to ensure sufficient lodging space, you are encouraged to register as early as possible. Additional room space at the hotel above the contracted amount could be limited by availability. By registering as early as possible, you enable us to obtain additional rooms, if needed.

New for 2008 Student Conferences
Based on the recommendations of each region’s student conference
committee, the Student Paper Conference Chair(s) from each region may
nominate one student (per conference) for a summer undergraduate
internship at a NASA research center. Student nominations must be
from students who attended and participated in the regional conference
as presenters or conference organizers. Regions are encouraged to make
the selection at the regional conference so that the selection may be
announced at the conference awards ceremony. Specific criteria for the
selection is left to the Student Paper Conference Chair in coordination
with the Chief Judge for the conference. Along with the name of the
student nominee, the Student Paper Conference Chair MUST include the student’s resume, the student’s paper, and a short
statement of why the student was selected as that Student Paper
Conference’s nominee. NASA will use internal methods to select one
student intern from the submitted resumes and work directly with the
student to work out details of the internship. NASA will also forward
the name to the Chairman of the Student Conference Sub-Committee so
that regions can be notified of the final selection.
